Why Choose Magnolia

Our philosophy at Magnolia Recovery is to support every patient that enters our recovery center where they are in their recovery journey. Addiction is a personal disease that impacts each person in their own unique ways. That is why we strongly believe that there is no standard format for addiction treatment as it needs to be centered around your personal experiences and goals for addiction recovery. We believe that you have the right to individualized care throughout your treatment program which is why we keep our number of patients to a maximum of 6 patients at a time. This allows each person in our recovery center to have the one on one therapy and support to move through and complete your treatment program with ease. Our team works to provide each patient with a continuum of care that will support you through every phase of your addiction recovery process including detox, inpatient rehab, outpatient treatment, and aftercare planning which enables patients to find success in long term recovery.

Alcohol Detox Program

Alcohol addiction can create strong physical dependencies within alcohol abusers that can impact a person’s physical and mental health. Before you are able to begin to explore the underlying causes of your alcohol addiction, it is important that you first relieve yourself of the physical dependency through an alcohol detox program first. As you quit your use of alcohol, your body will begin the process of adjusting to functioning without the presence of alcohol which can produce severe and, in some cases, life threatening withdrawal symptoms. In order to safely move through your alcohol detox in California, it is important that you have the ongoing support and supervision of licensed medical professionals. At Magnolia Recovery, we offer California residents a medical detox program within our recovery center that will allow you to safely treat any withdrawal symptoms and safely overcome the physical addiction to alcohol with the support of our licensed medical team. As you experience withdrawal symptoms, you will be provided with evidence based therapy methods that will help to minimize the severity of your symptoms, reduce any presenting cravings for alcohol, and maintain your overall health and wellbeing within your physical and mental health.

Drug Detox Program

Drug detox in California will look differently for each patient depending on your drug of choice. Each specific drug, whether it be opioids, prescription drugs, or stimulants, will cause patients to experience different withdrawal symptoms that will vary in levels of severity. Withdrawal symptoms will vary depending on your unique history with drug abuse including the length of time you have been abusing drugs, the amount you use within a given time, and the frequency of your drug abuse. As you experience withdrawal symptoms, you will be supported by our team of medical professionals and addiction therapists that will treat and mitigate the severity of your withdrawal symptoms while ensuring your safety and comfortability throughout your detox program.

Once you have completed your alcohol detox program, you will be ready to begin the process of looking within to heal from the underlying emotions and traumas that have influenced your addictive behaviors. Each person has their own individual story with addiction and what has been the driving force for your alcohol consumption. Oftentimes, at the root of all addiction is personal pain, emotions, and traumas that are challenging to manage on your own leading many to turn to alcohol as a way to numb the emotions and self medicate. During alcohol rehab, you will reside within our treatment center where you will be invited to participate in a structured daily routine that includes addiction therapy sessions, heath and wellness practices, holistic treatments , and recreational or social activities that will allow you to establish a new foundation for living in sober living.  Patients will be able to have ongoing support and guidance from our team of medical professionals and addiction therapists that are there for patients 24/7 to help you be successful in your journey towards recovery and health.

Participating in a drug rehab program within Magnolia Recovery will provide you with a safe environment free of any outside distractions or triggers where you can place all of your focus and energy into your healing journey. Throughout drug rehab, you will work with your addiction therapist to explore the root causes of your drug addiction while developing the tools and life skills to maintain long term addiction recovery. With the support of evidence based therapy approaches, you will be able to identify what your triggers are including thought patterns, behaviors, or emotions that have contributed to your addictive behaviors. As you heal from the underlying emotions and traumas, you will have the opportunity to gain insight on tools you can utilize for addiction recovery such as emotional regulation methods, holistic practices, and developing a strong support system in your life that will enable you to maintain a life of sobriety, health, and wellness.

Inpatient Rehab

Inpatient rehab invites California residents to attend our recovery center for addiction treatment and reside within our treatment facility. Patients will be able to live with other individuals that are going through the early addiction recovery process and have ongoing support from our team of addiction counselors and medical professionals. This provides patients with a safe, supportive environment that fosters healing, personal growth, and recovery without having to worry about any outside distractions or triggers. Each patient within inpatient rehab will be provided with a daily schedule that incorporates a variety of addiction therapy sessions, physical exercise or activity, nutritional support, holistic therapies and treatments, and spiritual development. We believe that in order to successfully heal and overcome addiction, it is important that you are provided with opportunities to heal and grow within your body, mind, and spirit.

Outpatient Rehab- PHP

Outpatient rehab offers California residents with a flexible option for addiction treatment that is offered in varying levels of care. Patients can choose a partial hospitalization program (PHP) which is sometimes referred to as a day program. This method of outpatient treatment invites patients to attend the recovery center during the day for up to 6 hours a day for 6 days each week. During this time, you will be invited to participate in individual and group therapy processes similar to inpatient rehab. A PHP will allow you the opportunity to be supported through evidence based therapy methods to support you in healing from your root causes of addiction while gaining the knowledge and skills to maintain long term sobriety. After you complete your day within our recovery center, you will be able to return home to your loved ones or to a sober living home each evening. A PHP is often a great stepping stone for those patients that are transitioning out of inpatient rehab.

Outpatient Rehab IOP

The other form of outpatient rehab is an intensive outpatient program (IOP). An IOP is the most flexible option for treatment and is ideal for those patients that have completed a PHP or inpatient rehab program but are still looking for ongoing support to ensure you maintain sober living. Patients in an IOP will create a schedule for when you attend the treatment center to engage in addiction therapy. Patients will be able to attend the recovery center 3-5 times each week for typically 3 hours at a time. This form of outpatient treatment allows patients the flexibility to maintain work, school, and family commitments while still engaging in the necessary healing work of addiction treatment.

MAT in California

A medication assisted treatment (MAT) is a form of addiction treatment that supports individuals living with severe addiction to alcohol or drugs to safely overcome their addiction without having to experience the unpleasant and, sometimes, painful symptoms of drug or alcohol withdrawal. During a drug or alcohol detox program, patients may be invited to participate in a MAT program if you are experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms to help alleviate the severity of your symptoms and reduce the presence of any cravings for drugs or alcohol. A MAT program will provide patients with FDA approved medications of buprenorphine, methadone, or naltrexone depending on your substance of choice and current withdrawal symptoms that you are experiencing.

While participating in a MAT program, you will have the ongoing support and supervision of medical professionals including physicians and nurses that monitor your progress through detox and your withdrawal symptoms.  You will be provided with medications and evidence based therapy methods that will reduce the severity of your withdrawal symptoms to a mild or moderate level allowing you to remain focused on your addiction treatment journey. As the days in your recovery program progress, your medication dosage will be adjusted to work towards a slow tapering off process as you continue to safely overcome the physical dependence to drugs or alcohol. Medications provided in a MAT program are not intended to be long term treatments. The medications provided are designed to help patients move through the initial, early addiction recovery process until you have gained physical and psychological health stability and wellness.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?

At Magnolia Recovery, we believe that everyone has the right to receive addiction treatment when they are ready to do so. Before beginning addiction treatment, there are often questions and hesitations surrounding how much a rehab program will cost. We strive to provide an affordable and accessible treatment program for all which is why we will work with you to explore any insurance coverage you have. If you do not have insurance coverage or only partial coverage for the cost, our team will work with you to establish a payment plan that fits within your budget to help you get started on your recovery journey when you are ready without having any additional worries or barriers to your success.

How Long Is Detox?

Each patient will have their own individual experience within detox that will depend on your specific history with substance abuse. The amount of time that you will be going through detox will depend on a number of factors including the length of time you have been engaging in substance abuse, the amount that you use in a given time, and the frequency of your substance abuse. Additionally, If you have a family history of addiction or if you are living with a  co occurring disorders, these factors may influence the time you are in a detox program. Patients will be in their detox program until you have successfully and safely overcome any withdrawal symptoms and begin to regain your overall physical health and wellness. During detox, patients will often experience initial, mild withdrawal symptoms within 8 to 10 hours after you engaged in substance abuse and will experience the peak of your withdrawal symptoms within 72 hours. Often patients will be able to complete their detox program within 7-10 days. After you have completed your detox program, you are of sound body and mind to begin the process of drug or alcohol rehab.

How Long Is Rehab?

Patients in a rehab program are encouraged to take the time you need to get the most from your healing journey. Your addiction did not develop overnight and it is important to remember that your time in drug or alcohol rehab will take time. California residents can choose to participate in rehab for 30, 60, or 90 days depending on your specific levels of need. If you choose a short term rehab option but decide you need longer to engage in your treatment program, you are welcome to extend your stay with us to ensure you get the most from your addiction treatment. Once you have completed your rehab program, you are invited to participate in aftercare programs that will support you in staying on the road to recovery including attending outpatient rehab, 12 step recovery programs, and other addiction recovery support groups or counseling.

Short Term Rehab

A short term rehab program of 30 days will invite California residents to remove yourself from the environment that once fueled your addiction to begin your healing journey of addiction treatment. Having 30 days will provide you enough time to begin to establish a new daily routine and lifestyle that will foster living in addiction recovery. Patients will reside within our treatment facility with other individuals that are beginning their early addiction recovery process. We find that patients are able to connect and build relationships with other patients  who understand the emotions, thoughts, and challenges associated with overcoming drug and alcohol addiction. As patients grow and heal together, you are able to create a strong foundation for your new life in addiction recovery.

Long Term Rehab

A long term rehab program can be for a time period of 60 or 90 days. This length of time is ideal for those patients that have a history of relapse  as it will provide you with enough time to explore your root causes of addiction while giving you time to continue to strengthen your coping skills and tools for relapse prevention. During long term rehab, you will be invited to engage in specific evidence based therapy methods including  dual diagnosis treatment and trauma therapy that will support you in healing from your past traumas and learning to manage symptoms of your co-occurring disorders that have been contributing to your addictive behaviors. A long term rehab program will provide you with ample time to fully engage in the recovery process while creating a new lifestyle and daily routine that will ensure you have long lasting success in addiction recovery.

Patients will have opportunities to engage in holistic therapeutic methods such as physical movement and activity, nutritional coaching, mindfulness practices, and gaining spiritual awareness and development. We understand the nature of addiction and how it impacts your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health which is why your addiction treatment program will focus on healing and personal growth within your body, mind, and spirit.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely used form of addiction therapy that works with patients to identify the emotions, behaviors, and thoughts that have contributed to your addictive behaviors. CBT sessions are conducted through individual and group therapy sessions where  you will have the opportunity to explore and gain an understanding of your own personal triggers for substance abuse. Once you establish an understanding of your triggers, you will be able to learn different coping methods that will help you manage your emotions or thoughts to help you overcome any potential triggers.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a form of addiction therapy that invites patients to gain an understanding of what has been fueling your addictive behaviors and provide you with healthy coping strategies and life skills to maintain sober living. DBT sessions can be held within individual and group therapy sessions that will invite you to participate in various therapeutic exercises that will help you navigate how to handle your emotions and thoughts that can influence your addictive behaviors. DBT sessions will provide opportunities to develop skills for healthy relationships and interpersonal skills, emotional regulation techniques, develop tools to manage conflict, and engage in mindfulness practices. The goal of DBT is to help you gain the confidence in your ability to manage potential triggers or self destructive behaviors to foster a life in addiction recovery.

Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT)

Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) is a form of therapy that supports patients in reflecting on your thoughts and perceptions surrounding the interactions you have had with others and how those situations and perceptions can influence your self image and emotional wellbeing. If you perceive interactions or situations to be negative, it can create negative self image or self worth that can be challenging to manage on your own which can lead you to substance abuse as a method of coping. REBT will provide patients with opportunities to recognize and  challenge your thought patterns and perceptions regarding your experiences and learn methods to shift your thought processes to healthy, self affirming thoughts that will lead you away from any self destructive behaviors and foster healthy, sober living.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Dual Diagnosis treatment is designed to treat patients that are living with co occurring disorders of a substance use disorder and ongoing mental health disorder or behavioral health condition. For many people that are living with mental or behavioral health conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or PTSD,  there can be difficult side effects and symptoms that are hard to manage if you are not equipped with the proper medication and treatments. In order to mitigate the symptoms being experienced, many will turn to drugs or alcohol as a way to self medicate. This can lead to a cycle of addiction as well as exacerbate the already existing symptoms from your occurring disorder. A dual diagnosis treatment program will support  patients in learning new tools for  managing your mental or behavioral health disorders through holistic, natural approaches of managing your presenting symptoms and finding stability in your mental and behavioral health.  During this process, you will be able to address your substance use disorders through addiction therapy and gain the skills to overcome any future triggers to ensure you remain clean and sober.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a commonly used form of trauma therapy. EMDR is designed to support patients that have a history of trauma which has impacted their normal daily functioning or routine and may have contributed to a person’s substance abuse.  During an EMDR session, therapists will work alongside patients to safely explore and revisit their previous trauma. The goal of the session is to alleviate any negative responses or difficult emotions that are affiliated with your traumatic memory. While in the session, patients will be asked to listen to tapping sounds and tones that will support your brain to be in a state of dual awareness. Once in a state of dual awareness, your brain will be able to focus on two things at once. Entering this state will allow you to safely revisit previous traumas and memories in order for you to rewrite your traumatic memory to one that is less harmful or intrusive. This process will allow you to remove any negative responses you have when encountered with triggers or stress and allow you to maintain stable, healthy mental health and thought functioning.

Relapse Prevention

A key component of an addiction treatment program is to provide patients with the education and strategies to maintain a life of addiction recovery. After completing a drug or alcohol rehab program, you will transition home where life will still have its ups and downs and triggers can present themselves. By being equipped with the knowledge and tools for relapse prevention, it will enable you to maintain long term sobriety. Throughout your addiction treatment program, you will go through relapse prevention planning and skill development. Patients will learn various tools that can be utilized within your everyday life such as mindfulness practices, tools for regulating emotions, developing a strong support system in addiction recovery including attending 12 step recovery groups, and engaging in various holistic practices or treatments. If you are prepared with a number of coping skills and tools, you will be able to maintain your addiction recovery with ease.

Life Skills Training

Living in addiction recovery requires developing the tools and skills for a well rounded, balanced lifestyle. In order to maintain a healthy, stable lifestyle, it is important that you have the opportunity to learn and solidify your knowledge and ability to maintain healthy life skills. Throughout each addiction treatment program, you will be offered the opportunity to practice and gain the necessary life skills for living in addiction recovery such as:

  • Healthy and effective cleaning skills and personal hygiene routines
  • Understanding and developing healthy relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Time management skill development
  • Developing financial literacy and stability skills such as money management, bill payments, and budgeting

Vocational Training

Vocational training during addiction treatment supports patients in developing the skills for obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment. In the midst of an active addiction, many individuals will often experience challenges finding or maintaining employment due to the cycle and impact of addiction.  At Magnolia Recovery, we see the benefits that employment can have on people in addiction recovery as it not only provides steady income but also helps you to gain a sense of purpose, develop self confidence as you develop new skills and become independent, as well as fosters new, healthy relationships with others within your workplace. During your treatment program, you will have the opportunity to establish new skills for seeking and maintaining long term employment.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is a regularly utilized method of addiction therapy within all addiction treatment programs. Group therapy invites patients to share their experiences, thoughts, and emotions surrounding addiction within a group of other patients that have had similar experiences with addiction. These sessions are facilitated by an addiction therapist that will guide the conversation through topics that are centered around addiction and recovery. As group discussions are had,  patients are able to learn and relate to other patients’ experiences and recognize that they are not alone in feeling the emotions that are often associated with addiction such as guilt or shame. Group therapy is a healing process that allows patients to connect with others and heal from the pains or traumas of addictions within a safe, controlled setting and discussion.

Experiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy that assists patients in understanding the underlying emotions, behaviors, and previous traumas that have contributed to your substance abuse. Patients will be invited to participate in different hands-on activities alongside your therapist that will help you engage in conversation while engaging in various activities that will work to distract your mind and body. This process allows patients to become open and vulnerable to your emotions and begin to explore the deep rooted feelings and thoughts that have contributed to your addictive behaviors. As you progress through the activity, patients are able to release any negative or harsh emotions through the activity allowing you to begin to move forward towards a life of addiction recovery. In some cases, patients are able to find an experiential activity that is calming and enjoyable which they can continue to engage in even after completing addiction treatment.

One on One Therapy

Each patient in addiction treatment will have the opportunity to have individual therapy sessions with one of our addiction therapists. Your one on one therapy sessions with your addiction therapist will include various evidence based therapy methods that will assist you in exploring the emotions, thoughts, and actions that are linked to your addictive behaviors and how those thought patterns and emotions have impacted your self identity and self worth. Throughout these sessions, you will be provided with opportunities to develop coping skills and tools that will enable you to feel confident that you are able to overcome any triggers and remain on track for long term sobriety.

Family Therapy

During your addiction, it is common to experience family conflicts or relationships breakdowns due to your addictive behaviors and actions while engaging in substance abuse. Many people in active addiction will isolate themselves from loved ones in an attempt to hide their addiction or avoid any family conflicts. However, to be successful in addiction recovery, it is important that you have the support of loved ones around you that will help increase your sense of belonging and have ongoing support within your recovery. During your drug or alcohol rehab program, you will be invited to participate in family therapy sessions. Patients and their loved ones will be encouraged to come together in a safe space to have open communication about each person’s experience with addiction and the impacts of watching a loved one go through addiction. These sessions provide families with the opportunity to heal from any previous conflicts and regain a sense of trust, understanding, and love with one another again. Families are able to establish the tools for healthy communication with each other, learn how to have strong boundaries with each other, and how to hold each other accountable to their boundaries and expectations within the family unit to help foster long term supportive, sober family relationships.

Trauma Informed Therapy (After PTSD)

For some people living with a substance use disorder, you have had a history of traumatic experiences and memories that has resulted in PTSD which has significantly impacted your day to day life. The impacts of PTSD are challenging to manage on your own and without the proper support and tools, many will turn to substance abuse as a way to self medicate and cope. To best support our patients living with PTSD and traumatic histories, we utilize a trauma informed therapy approach. This method of therapy will  support you in safely processing your history of trauma while being mindful and intentional of avoiding re-traumatization. The goal of trauma informed therapy is to support patients in healing from your trauma while developing the tools for emotional regulation and managing triggers or trauma response through healthy alternatives that avoid self medicating with substances.

Physical Fitness

Physical fitness is key for healthy living and sobriety. It works to promote a healthy balance within your emotional, physical, and mental health. Each addiction treatment program will incorporate levels of physical fitness that will support patients in finding a healthy physical outlet that will improve your physical health along with your mental health as it promotes clarity of thought, emotional regulation, and reduces stress or anxiety. Patients will be encouraged to participate in physical activity that is appropriate for your physical capabilities and capacities including going the gym, light stretching, yoga, or walking. Physical exercise has proven to be an effective relapse prevention tool while also supporting improved physical health by improving sleep quality, increase physical health functioning, body functioning, and provide a sense of belonging and purpose.

Off Site Activities

Throughout your time within our recovery center, you will be invited to engage in various off site activities. These off site excursions are designed to support patients in exploring different recreational opportunities within the community, promote physical health and wellness, and engage patients spiritually. Off site activities can include going to different scenic areas for walks, going to the beach, hiking, or attending church. Through off site activities, patients are able to see that a life of sober living can be enjoyable and engaging.
